The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a group of adults 55 and older that volunteer their time, talents and experience to meet the needs of their community through volunteer work with local non-profit organizations.

RSVP has many wonderful and unique opportunities to offer individuals in our community.  All volunteers must be 55 +

Program areas that need YOUR help are:
Bone Builders:  Bone Builders is an osteoporosis prevention exercise class held 2 times per week led by seniors FOR seniors.  Multiple sites exist in Wayne County.  Group leaders receive initial and ongoing training.  This is a year round commitment.

Living Healthy: Volunteers pair with another individual in the community to instruct a workshop on Chronic Disease Self-Management. Help others be as healthy as they can be!

Tax Counseling Services: Trained volunteers provide free tax preparation services for low-income seniors, and other low-income families in Wayne County.  This volunteer service is seasonal, beginning in January and concluding in April.  All volunteer tax preparers receive training provided by the IRS.

Medical Transportation Drivers: These volunteers provide a much needed transportation service to seniors living in Wayne, Ontario, and Seneca Counties needing rides to and from medical appointments.  Limited scholarships for drivers to attend the AARP sponsored ’55 Alive’ defensive driving course are available.  Drivers also receive mileage reimbursement.  This is an ongoing commitment.

Meals on Wheels: RSVP volunteers support the Home Meal Service Program in Wayne County by delivering hot meals to the elderly.
